Rows 4-6: Repeat rows 2 & 3, then repeat row 2 once more, change to B.
Row 3: Beg star, star across, hdc in last st (same st as last leg of previous star), turn. Row 2: Ch 1, sc in first hdc, sc in eye of first star, 2 sc in eye of each star across, sc in top of last star. R ow 1 (RS): Sk first ch, in each of next 5 chs, yo and pull through all 6 loops on hook, ch 1 (first star made), star across, hdc in same ch as last leg of previous star, turn. Star Stitch (star): Insert hook into eye of previous star and pull up a loop, insert hook between the last 2 legs of the previous star and pull up a loop, insert hook in the last st or ch used for the previous star (at the base of the last leg) and pull up a loop, twice, yo and pull through all 6 loops on hook, ch 1 to close (this ch-1 is the eye of the star). Hook: US Size I/9 (5.5 mm) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gaugeīeginning Star Stitch (beg star): Ch 2, insert hook in top loop only of 2nd ch from hook and pull up a loop, insert hook in back bump of same ch and pull up a loop, 3 times, yo and pull through all 6 loops on hook, ch 1 to close (this ch-1 is the eye of the star). Once you’ve completed one crochet star stitch blanket you’ll find yourself looking for more babies who could use a cozy blanket to cuddle up with. And to keep it simple, we’ve used a basic single crochet stitch for the border. While this stitch has a couple of minor challenging aspects, once you get through the first few rows, you’ll find yourself flying through the rest of it.
